THE ASTRONOMICAL SOCIETY OF MALTA

BASIC COURSE IN ASTRONOMY: 8th May - 12th June

The 2009 Basic Course in Astronomy consists of six theoretical lectures and an observing session . The theoretical sessions are held mainly on Fridays between 6:30 p.m. and 7:45 p.m. Weather permitting, the observing session will be held on a Wednesday. In case of inclement weather, the observing session will be held on an other day (upon agreement with participants).

VENUE

The Society, this year, is holding this course at the German-Maltese Circle, 141, "Messina Palace", St. Christopher Street, Valletta.

PARTICIPATION

Those persons interested to participate within this basic course have to send their details to the Treasure and enclose a cheque of Euro 35 payable to the Astronomical Society of Malta. Details (using BLOCK letters) should include: Name, Surname, Address, Identification number (if available) and Telephone number . The course participation fee includes course handouts and a certificate of participation. Please note that those participants who fail to attend for any four sessions will not be eligible for the certificate. Applications for the course should arrive at the Treasurer by not later than 6th May 2009. Reservations for the course can be made by phone or e-mail, although booking confirmation is made upon receipt of cheque payment. Society members can participate free of charge, provided that they have been members prior to 19th April 2009.
