On May 28, Charge d’Affaires Jason Davis attended an event organized by Malta’s Ministry of Resources and Rural Affairs to celebrate the completion of recent refurbishment works at the Kennedy Grove Memorial near St. Paul’s Bay. The Memorial, which is a popular spot for Maltese families to enjoy the outdoors, was commissioned by the Maltese Government in 1964 and was co-funded by Maltese-Americans living in Malta and the U.S. During the event, Mr. Davis highlighted the U.S. Government’s commitment to assisting Malta with environmental projects and mentioned a number of initiatives the U.S. Embassy has organized in the park, including community relations activities during which sailors from visiting U.S. Navy ships assisted in a renovation project and in a clean-up of the surrounding park land. The U.S. Embassy also participated in the Ministry’s 34U campaign by planting five trees in the Kennedy Grove.
